Still here

Yes, I am still here. I just haven't been inspired to blog lately...

It's the same ole, same ole. Our apartment still sucks. We still hate it, and the three-day adventure last week when there was no hot water only strengthened our resolve to move this summer. On the positive side - I was able to re-purpose my canning pot and stock pot to draw baths the old fashioned way. It took bloody forever, but at least I was able to get clean.

We had a perfectly lovely Saturday this weekend - sunny and warm. So we spent part of the day at the beach in Carkeek Park. What a fun day. The picture at left is the ONLY photo we took that day in which my eyes were open. It was so extremely bright compared to the overcast, gray days we have been experiencing, and Sean deserves a medal for taking probably 200 photos until I could keep my eyes open.

That park looks way cooler than any park we have! My eyes physically won't open on bright days- half of our Seattle pictures look this way, but of course Paul looks good, so I still feel obligated to save it. : ) We can't wait to visit again someday. sigh. Yes, our new place is brand new, so the water takes a while to circulate because our building only has a couple of tenants- cold water is no fun! Thankfully we have seen more and more people scouting out our side of the complex!

I'm sorry to hear about the lack of hot water, that sucks. I completely understand the brightness thing. My eyes are so sensitive to bright lights that I even have to wear sunglasses on overcast days. If I leave my sunglasses in the car, I've gotta make the dash to the car with my eyes closed tight. When I get to come, maybe we'll have to visit that park. August is best you say?

August was very pleasant when we went, though you could still get a little pink in direct sunlight.

My most enjoyable outing was to Mount Ranier; I loved the experience. Maybe you could talk Staishy into taking you, too.

Staishy, is that the beach park you took us to?

No, we went to Cama Beach State Park, which is farther north. http://www.parks.wa.gov/camabeach/

I think Cama Beach is a bit nicer, but this one is in the city and close to home.

Mount Rainier is very beautiful. Sean and I want to go camping there when the snow melts and things warm up a bit.
